For the next few weeks, my homeroom class and I - in fact, all of the families that are part of my school community - are participating in my school's first Feed the Need Packing Event. I'm glad that the school is trying to move away from golf tournaments, cookie dough sales, and dinner galas with silent auctions, and focus our efforts on ONE event that will get our kids involved with attending to the needs of poor children their age in a small but tangible way. To this end, on December 11th, all of us will be pack, seal, and box over 10,000 meals for children in Haiti. The meals will be packed and sent either way, but funds raised will help continue the development of our Bible curriculum (including my own course on social justice) and a school culture of disciple-making.
