ED2500 - Orientation to Teaching
I completed my ED2500 course in May-June of 2013.
In my seminar class, my group and I researched and conducted a lesson on the history of, and contemporary issues related to, Aboriginal education in Canada and Alberta. I also delivered a micro-teaching lesson with a colleague on baking with healthy substitutions for common ingredients.
I completed a 2-day/week practicum in 2 kindergarten classes in Calgary. This involved:

I completed a 2-day/week practicum in 2 kindergarten classes in Calgary. This involved:
- teaching a craft and assisting with construction,
- reading stories and facilitating whole class discussion,
- directing a gym class,
- assisting students with printing and drawing,
- teaching the frog life cycle,
- accompanying students through swimming lessons, and
- leading small groups on field trips to the zoo.
