Faith Integration
Much of who I am as a person, and consequently how I operate as a teacher, derives from my experience and understanding of God. I express my faith primarily in the way I choose to treat others and how I invest my time, energy, and money. In addition to Jesus' teachings and examples, I've been shaped by people in my previous and current church community and the larger Vineyard family, as well as by Christians around the world through their teachings in writing or via video. I believe that people are both spiritual and physical beings, and that having a personal connection to one's creator as well as to a spiritual community is important in strengthening one's resilience, ethics, and sense of purpose.
As a teacher in a private, Christian school, I understand and respect the value of permeating the faith into all aspects of teaching. In addition to continuing my current practices, this environment permits me to teach a subject with explicit reference to Biblical theology. Examples of this might include:
